UNIVERSITY WOMEN.

DUNEDIN CONFERENCE. OFFICIAL OPENING TO-MORROW. The triennial conference of the New Zealand Federation of University Women will open in Dunedin to-morrow. An interesting programme from both a business and social point of view has been planned and subjects covering a wide field of interest will be discussed at the conference. To-morrow afternoon a reception will be given to the delegates by the Dominion president, and a garden party will be held at the home of Dr. Muriel Bell. On Friday the topic of discussion will be "the contribution which university women are making to New Zealand national life" and the programme for Saturday includes an international day. Reports of the council meeting in London and of the New Zealand Fellowship Committee will be presented. For the latter a draft of proposed regulations will be submitted.

Among topics to be discussed on Monday, January 30, is one on whether there is a revulsion of women from teaching as a profession. The outlook of opportunity in the teaching of geography and history will also be considered, and it is probable that a discussion of special interest to members of the federation as a body will also take place on that day. The title of the discussion is to be "In what way can the federation be international in practice as well as in constitution."

There are three delegates from the Auckland branch of the federation, Mrs. W. H. Qocker, the president, Mrs. A. K. Turner and Miss A. L. Loudon.
