Gilmour, giving evidence thio morning nt an inquest into the death of Powhiti Tauariki, a married woman, who died at her home, Barrack Road, Mount Wellington, on January 18. Dr. Gilmour, who made a post-mortem, said that death was due to acute lobar pneumonia. Maki Tauariki, busnand of the deceased, said that for a week prior to her death his wife had been confined to her lied. She complained of pains in the chest and between the shoulders. A Chinese herbalist, Lnm You Kwong. had visited her twice and prescribed medicine. The coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, returned a verdict that death was due to acute lobar pneumonia.
