The offering of ?: cows and heifers was easily the heaviest 1 of the season, while steers were also in f good supply. The result was a drop in I prices of over 20/ a head. Auctioneers * quoted ox beef down 1/ per 1001b. and cow f and heifer beef 2/ to 3' down, prices : rangine up to 37/ per 1001b, the lowest since last winter. | The reason for the bifi yarding ig the ":■ continued dry weather. Steers from the Native Department's propertv at Waimiha topped .the market the draft o'f 16 selling from £11 10/ to £15. A truck of eight prime bullocks from Mr. W. J. Mills, Rangirrri, brought £12 2,6 to £12 15/, and a line of 17 sold on account of Mr. A. L. Hull Waiuku, realised up to £14.
