The morning call was again quiet on the Chi isU-huich Stock Exchange. Australian Glass, in conformity with Sydney rates, dropped sharply. Selleis came down by 2' to £5 11,', but were still well above buyers' offers of £5 4,6. The only sale on 'Change in this section was Dunlop Rubbers, which changed hands alt the fractionally firmer rate of 21, 5. A sale was reported of Woolworths (Sydney, ordinary), at 21 10, whiah was firm on late latas. Other sales were in mining. Grey Rivers went up a further Id to chanffe hands at 18/ 1, ami Golden Sands at 1/OV4 had their tiixt sale for many months. Again one ot the principal features of the call was the demand for Government stocks, the highest offer of £9!) being made for 4 per cent inscribed 1949 ami 4 |>er cent stock 1!>49. Not one seller , appeared.

There was little change in banks. Sellers of Commercials of Sydney came donn 10/ to £21 10/, but could not raise a response. Bank: of New Zealands were firm at from .'s9/3 to 39/9. In the loan and agency section Dalgetys were on offer at the unchanged rate of £7 18/. Golds■brough Morts were offered at 29/, and Wright, Stepkhensons at 19/9, but no 'buyers came forward in the section. , . . There was more inquiry for Kaiapois (17/) were wanted at 8/, with preference at 14/3, there being no sellers. The 7/ paid were on offer at 5/6. Oajnarus were inquired for at 10/, and Bonds at 16/, with no response. Auckland Gas : sellers camie down frotn 21/ to 19/6 with I buyers at 19/. New Zealand Breweries were firm at 40/10, with sellers 2d liigher.
