DOMINION PETITION.
SUPPORT OF IMPORTERS. NEW DL'XEDIX ORGANISATION. •Signatures to the petition to be presented by the Bureau of Importers to the Governor-Genera I. Lord Galway, appealing for tho suspension of tlie regulations for tlie control of imports until their validity has been determined by the Full Court of New Zealand, have been mounting rapidly diiring the past few days. The secretary of the bureau, Mr. Reg. Barker, stated to-day that forms with signatures from many towns had been sent in by Chambers of Commerce and importers' organisations. "The petition is receiving Dominionwide support," said Mr. Barker, "and we expect that the signatures, when complete, will amount to a huge total. It is evident that importers and merchants everywhere are now beginning to realise the far-reaching effects of the new regulations upon their businesses." Advice that a Bureau of Importers has been formed in Dunedin had been received in Auckland, h« added, and had been accompanied by a request for petition forma sufficient for 1000 signatures.
