TERRIFIC STORMS.
Miraculous Rescue of The Crew. LINERS BADLY BATTERED. Independent Cable Service. (Received 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 20. One ship was broken in two, another lost her propeller and several liners were badly battered in terrific mid winter storms in the Atlantic. Tho crew of 37 were miraculously reamed from the oil tanker Juguar, I'it'll broke in two in mirl-Atlantic so suddenly that she >vas unable to flash ii distress signal. A small freighter, the Duala, which apparently was nearby, stated by wireless that sho had picked up seven men from the forecastle, and 30 from the after section, which remained floating despite the tremendous seas. A coastguard cutter reached the freighter Black Condor off Nova Scotia. Tho vessel had lost her propeller.
