REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. WHANGAREI COUNTY ROADS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. "It should not be necessary to come to this council for this information, as it has already been supplied to the Minister and Mr. Paekwood, the district engineer, in our allocation of the fiveyear plan," commented the chairman, Mr. J. A. S. MacKay, at yesterday's meeting of the Whangarei County Council. The comments followed a request from the Public Works Department for information regarding access roads in the [county, arising from a letter forwarded by settlers to the Minister of Pul»lk Works. This letter was referred to the Department's district engineer in Whangarei. "Not only have the roads been giver place according to our views of importance and urgency in the five-year plan, but they have been marked ABC and E in each particular year," said Mr. MacKay. Mr. MacKay moved that the district engineer be referred to for information already supplied. "There is no road in the county that is not important," Mr. MacKay added.
