LABOURER'S OFFENCE. Charppd a\ ith issuing a cheque for £2 10/. purporting to he signed by IX E, Christie, and causing Donald .TohiiRon to act upon it as though it. were ponuine, a labourer, William Henry (larcliner, aped 25. for whom Air. K. Aekins appeared, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court before Mr. J. G. Hewitt, S.M.. and was committed < 0 the Supreme Court for sentence. Acyusetl in a statement to a detective admitted tokinv the cheque form from the cheque hook of an acquaintance in an hotel and filling it in for the amount of £2 10/. He afterwards cashed the cheque.
