DOROTHY ROUND RETURNS TO BIG TENNIS.
Mrs. D. Little—formerly Miss Dorothy Round, Wimbledon champion in 1934 and 1937—is returning to big lawn tennis next Beacon. She had a son at the time of the last Wimbledon championships, and did not play tennis for el year. But she. told me that she had been practising in the last two months, and hoped to start ber season at the Tally Ho! tournament at Birmingham next Easter. "If my form la satisfactory I will play in some London tournaments, and, I hope, at Wimbledon," she said. She and her husband live at Dudley, Worcestershire, and her son is "taking up all my time —and I don't think I could spare the time to go to the United States with the Wight man Cup team, even if my play i* good enough. "I could not accept an invitation to captain the aide—l see that suggestion has been made. "It's asking a lot to win the championship after nearly 12 months with out a game, hut I am hoping to be able to hav« another shot at it. My main idea in starting tennis again waa. to keep myself fit."
