HUG.E PLUNGE ASTRAY.
'TWAS NOT SBDUNVM'S LUCKY DAY. One of the biggest plunges attempted on a Sydney suburban course for sonic years went astray recently when Sedunum ran third in the Peter Moore Cup at Moorefield. Sedunum, who was backed down tn prohibitive odds, lost because he could not muster sufficient early pace to keep clear of Geebung and received several bad checks in the early stages of tbe race. While Nebraska and Eastern Maid, comparative outsiders, were establishing a commanding lead, Sedunum and Geebung were spoiling each other's chances in the rear of the field. Sedunum kept dropping back, and at least three times bis heels struck Gecbung. Geebung lost many lengths and each check also threw Sedunum out of his stride. Once he got going, he went right through the field, and finished third, only two heads behind Nebraska and Bramol. _ With an uninterrupted run, there 5s little doubt Sedunum would have won comfortably.
