INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
A total of .54 case* of infectious disease in the Central Auckland health district for the month ended December 31, I!K!S. is revealed in the list issued by the Department of Health. Of these. 20 are cases of pulmonary T.B. and 12 of erysipelas, while diphtheria claimed the next highest number of victims, with six. There were three cases each of searlet fever and puerperal fever, and two each of typhoid fever and bacillary dysentery. Only one case of hydatids was reported. One case of ecarlet fever and two of diphtheria made up the total of three reported from the Thaiues-Tauranga district.
