WOMAN'S DISAPPEARANCE. THE CLAVERLEY MYSTERY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHU RC-H, Thursday. After having been carried on intensively for about three months, the police search at Olaverley for Mrs. Harriet •lane Patience, who has been mixsinsr from her home there since Ootoher 4. will be discontinued from to-clav. Superintendent A. Cameron said * to-night, however, that inquiries will be continued. The search has covered a wide area of land and water. As well as diunim* on the beach, the police had combed the back country near the settlement and have also dragged swamps and streams. Their activities have extended as far as 20 miles from Claverlev. Both police officers and Public' Works Department men were engaged in the search during the earlier stages, but the number of men had been reduced as the work was narrowed. Six of the police officers were withdrawn about three weeks ago, another eight last week, and the final party of eix will finish their work to-day." The search at Claverley was under the direction of Detective Sergeant J. Bickerdiko.
