WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY AND PROVINCE The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Strong north-west to west winds, reaching gale force in exposed positions and later backing to south-west. Weather overcast, with Intermittent rain, and possibly some thunder, but later becoming cool and showery. Sea rough to high on the west coast and moderate to rather rough in the coastal waters of the east coast, but rough off shore. A rather deep depression is crossing the centra! portion of the Dominion, while another is approaching the southern extremity. Pressure has risen sharply over eastern Australia. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west, strong; sea, rough; weather, cloudy and hazy, with passing showers; visibility, poor; barometer, falling.
