The "Daily Telegraph" Paris correspondent says that the employers' attitude is creating: anxiety in view of the tendency to humiliate the strikers. M. Blum's group promises to champion them and denounces the lock-outs. M. Daladicr urges clemency, but in the meanwhile lock-outs threaten the national economy plans. The Government's reprisals affect a few thousands. Half a million are still idle, but normality Is expected in a week. The Bourse is already more confident. fhe dismissal of M. .Touhaux. secre-tary-general of the Confederation of Laboflr, and union leaders from State positions, has angered workers' organisations. It is feared that it will provoke further strikes. The Confederation of Labour sent a communique protesting against "excess reprisals risking disorders." Police arrested Albert Thomas, trade union leader, after a chase at Denain works, ill which it is alleged he threw paving stones. It was the sequel of a free fight when 5000 tried to prevent workers resuming. It is alleged Thomas was responsible for the metal workers strike. WORKERS RETALIATE. ACTION AGAINST REPRISALS. Strike action against reprisals has already started at St. Xazaire, where 10,000 naval and civil shipyard workers struck after an announcement by the management that those who participated in the general strike will only be reemployed provisionally.
