EVACUATION REUNION
Christchurch Digger's Idea A SUGGESTIv* by a Christchurch Digger to call a muster of Christchurch men who took part in the evacuation of Gallipoli is one that will arouse much interest. He writes thus: "I would like to take up a small space of your paper in the hope of finding out? how many of the Christchurch men are alive to-day wlio actually took part in the evacuation of Gallipoli. I mean those men who carried it out to a successful issue. There were not many who took part in tliis operation, as a fair number went away that morning and a few days previously. I think it would be a g«»od idea for those who are left to have a roll call and reunion to talk over that night. ''Well, sir, I hope this will meet the eyes of some of the old mob from the Cheshire Ridge and Apex and let's have a reunion on the anniversary of the day we carried out the evacuation. In conclusion, I hope someone with an abler pen than mine will take this up. Personally, I would like to see one of our officers take charge of operations, as they did at the evacuation." SIX-BAR.
