It was a large and happy gathering if members and friends of the Mount |; Übert women's group of the New Zea- | and Labour party who attended the I jreaking-up afternoon held at Mount I Mbert. | Among those present were: Mrs. A. | v Richards (guest of honour) Mrs. F.! Martin (president), Mrs. Griffin (vice-I president). Mrs. M. Basham (secretary), I Mesdames 1*". Taylor, Brown, Warren,' Williams, Karbv. Crawford, o'Bryan,j Rodgers. Weill. McCormack, Jones. J Alexander. Stewart, Hewitt, Natrass, I Thomas, Payne, Green, Pickering, Day, Ireland, Alc(. ioughin, Watt, Kim, Fraser, Begbie, Young, Heigh way, Olausen, Uitchie, Cassie. Holt, Lincoln, Rosenergy, Weston, Stanley, Late. Tonkin, Mirko, Middlebrook, Kiddie, .Morris, Bond, Thompson, MilTer, Cook, Mi-Alpine. Hawkes, Grover, Cleave, Jones and Howie. Such a function will undoubtedly be the mean* of still furthering the party's interest in Mount Albeit. The group will be in recess until the New Year, when it is very evident their work will be taken up enthusiastically. I During the afternoon a one-act play was staged, much to the enjoyment and appreciation of those present. Mrs. A. S. Richards was the recipient of a beautiful floral bouquet. Mesdames Martin, Basham and Taylor, in appreciation of services rendered, also received floral tribute*. Mrs. Ireland, to whom the group is indebted for her efforts on their behalf, was presented with a large crystal bowl and bouquet. The serving of a dainty afternoon tea brought a very successful afternoon to a close.
