TAKAPUNA RACECOURSE.
LOCAL, GOLF CLUB'S WORK.
A letter conveying an offer of cooperation in the development of the Takapuna Racecourse, which is shortly to be handed over to the Devonport Borough Council by the Takapuna Jockey Club, and known as Alison Park, was received by the council from the Waitemata Golf Club.
The club stated that duning the last 35 years £15,000 had been spent by the club in developing the property as a golf course, while the club had spent large sums in purchasing the necessary plant to keep the course in order.
Appreciation of the club's work in the past was expressed by the council, which accepted the offer of co-opera-tion. It was stated by the Mayor, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle, that the question of the occujration of the park by sports bodies would be fully considered ao a later stage.
