An event almost unique was celebrated in Dunedin to-day by Mr. and Mrs. John Coombs, of North-east Valley, of the sixty-eighth anniversary of their wedding. Mr. Coombs is in his ninetieth year and Mrs. Coombs in her ninetvtliird. Mrs. Coombs landed at Port Chalmers by the Marriner in 1849 and Mr. Coombs by the Josephine Willis at Auckland in 1855. Both Mr. and Mrs. Coombs enjoy the best of health.
Messages of congratulation have been received from Their Majesties the Kin" and Queen, Lord and Lady Galwav, the Prime Minister and the Mayor of Dunedin.
