GOAL OF PEACE.

United States-British Pact A Step Forward. CELEBRATIONS IN LONDON. British Official Wireless. (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, November 29. The American Ambassador to London, Mr. J. P. Kennedy, at a luncheon given by the American Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the signing of the United States-British trade agreement, said that in it they could realise the rebirth of common sense in international economy and the first step towards economic disarmament. The President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Olivet Stanley, said that the agreement was not a political move in a political bargain, but nevertheless he would stress its political value. The agreement so far from destroying the Ottawa agreement, he continued, had left them unaffected. Tt was a step towards the attainment of the goal of peace.
