SOCIAL PROGRAMME.

ART WORK AND FLOWERS.

A profusion of beautiful flowers and a display of art needlework combined with an enjoyable social programme attracted a. large attendance to the New Women's Club. The president, Mrs. W. B. Darlow. presided.

In the floral competition prizes were awarded to Mrs. (;. Ogden iiret and Mrs. W. B. Darlow second, for cut flowers, and to Mrs. Douglas for the best shoulder spray. In the art needlework Mrs. Peterson gained the first prize

for fajrjrotinjr and some exquisite smocking by Mrs. Jackson was the winning example in that section. The artiste assisting with the social programme were Mrs. Rough and Mrs. Dickson, who gave vocal eolos, the accompanist being Mrs. Harper White. Elocutionary items by Miss Dinison were ateo much 'appreciated. The musical competition was won by Mre. Dickson. Afternoon tea served by the hostesses, Mrs. Harley and Mrs. Mat-queenc, concluded a pleasant afternoon.
