Mount Eden.—The annual meeting was, owing to bad weather, poorly attended. The president, in the absence of the secretary, gave a report on the year's work, stating that new members had been gained and more internet taken. The election of officers was. held over till iic\t year. A cradle roll party held on Saturday was well attended bv mothers ;tnd children. A programme was rendered by Mesdanies Lewis, T. Clark, Misses Brooke. Rimmcr, Mann and Nichol. The Rev. Mr. Smith gave a :-lmrt talk to the mothers on the »alue of bringing up tlicir children in paths of temperance in all things. Miss Appleby. piniser. also spoke on the work and aims of the W.C.T.U. Mrs. J. K. Jack distributed the prizes and every child received a gift.
