Thorn had been general agreement that In the making of appointment* to medical stuff*, hospital boards tihould take steps to obtain special advice from an Independent body of medical men as to tho relative suitability of applicants, having regard to their professional and technical qualification*. Acting on the advice nf the meeting, a number of rucominondutlonn were made.

It. wm NiiggcAted that where agreement between the board and the appointments committee wat not reached within duo time, the matter should ho referred to the Department and tlmt it* recommendation should be considered before making a tlnal •election.
