The third series of matches in the Auckland Women's Cricket Association's championship at Walker Park were continued on Saturday. The main senior game resulted in a decisive win for A.L.H.H. A over Arawa in the first innings. Some bright batting was witnessed when A.L.H.A. opened their innings on a greasy wicket. Miss K. Itilkey trounced the bowling to score 31 runs, while Miss T. Bond and Miss E. Smytheman retired at 40 and 29 respectively. The first six of the season was hit by Miss P. Melforil. who added two iHiundaries and two singles before the side declared. Arawa's fast bowler. Mrs. E. Kay, found difficulty in delivering the ball on n treacherous pitch, which was more suited to the slow bowler Miss A. Batty. Faced with a big score of 100 to chase. Arawa made a poor start, and five wickets fell for 2o runs. At a critical stage of the game Miss X. Hammond gave a confident display, and carried her bat for 44 rims. She gave no chances, and her score included seven boundaries. Arawa had to follow on, but A.L.H.A. failed to gain a six-point win. Miss T. Bond used her puce to effect in capturing four wickets for 38, while Miss E. SniytliemnnV consistent trundling kept Arawa from scoring.
