NEW FASHIONS AT ELLERSLIE.

Second Day of Mid-Spring Meeting. Klleiflie n«r gardens made a perfect setting to-day for the many new early Hummer fashion fancies chosen by tlie racegoers at tlie second day of the Auckland Racing Chili's mid-spring meet ing. The weather, whicTi was slightly less overcast than that of the previous day, •rave more scope lor the (irst showing of the fashions to come, and -some truly fascinating ensembles were to lie seen. With the accent on millinery and new footwear (both brightly coloured) some interesting elTects in colour harmony were to he seen. Mats, both small and la rpe, showed distinct originality in line an<l colour, the high-crowned* and wide-brimmed sombrero being one of the popular choices for the day.
