JONATHAN HERE. MATCHED WITH BLOMFIELD. Arriving i n Wellington this morning by the Awatea was the big, bearded wrestler Brother Jonathan, come to back up his challenge to Lofty Blomfield for the New Zealand heavy-weight title. They are to meet at Carlav Park. Auckland, on Saturday night next, and it seems that the match should be one of the fastest and mojpt exciting staged in the citv this year. Even in a profession in which the members are noted for their physique and strength, Jonathan is remarkable, and some of the feats he has performed are those which are generally within the powers only of professional strong men and demand great natural strength as well as perfect co-ordination of mind and muscle. He has burst with his thighs a cowpuncher's lariat strong enough to support the weight of lj men. bent bars of steel, played a wind instrument while suspended by a hangman's noose, and v.in<>:i< other feats of a similar kind. -At •■no stage of his career he toured with a vaudeville show and did strong-man acts on the stage. Jonathan's wrestling has more than •brute strength to it. however. He is a man of amazing agility despite his great size, and throws himself about the ring with great, speed, launching 8 ? r ? rIK attacking moves from all P an d tions. His combination of a be maay forearm smash has , specialities of his opponents, and he also v in dumps and flying bro eßg ggajnft Blomfield. fresh ,f r ?™d even more trouble Pat O'Shocker, ".'"/'"'J out ssss.^jrzFJsr^i is r€Mao
