GOOD PASSAGE.
NIAGARA ARRIVES. EN ROUTE TO VANCOUVER. PASSENGERS FROM SYDNEY. Though a moderately strong wind was encountered the voyage of the Niagara from Sydney to Auckland, where she berthed this morninpr, was a good one, and there were no incidents to mar the passage. She had a good number of passengers, including several people from the Pacific Islands, who were returning home after holiday visits to Australia. Native Mission Workers. Dressed in a picturesque lava lava Mr. Paul Kmigaika, a missionary,, was a passenger from Sydney on his way back to Tonga. He has been in Sydney for 10 months doing: deputation work in connection with the Methodist overseas missions. He will join the Matua on her next trip to the Islands. Another interesting passenger was Mr. E. D. Kama, an organising teacher attached to the Education Department in Suva. He has also spent 10 months in Sydney in connection with Methodist mission work. Mr. G. (!. Kerinode, superintendent of police at Suva, was also a passenger returning from leave. He is accompanied by his wife and daughter. Likes New Zealanders. "I have visited New Zealand twice since and I like New Zealanders," said Mr. J. Cairns, controller of productions for the Australian Broadcasting Commission, who was a through passenger for Vancouver. He lias been stationed in Melbourne for the pa<«t eight years, and is going to Canada for four months to study methods there. He will be stationed for the greater part of the time at Ottawa. His place will be taken in Melbourne by a Canadian, Mr. Frank Willis. Mr. Cairns has been an actor all his life, and has appeared on stages all over (ireat Britain and Ireland, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He appeared with Sir Frank Benson in England and \va<4 connected with the Allan Wilkie Sliakespea rean Company in Australia and New Zealand. Mr. P. C. Hunt, London manager for Messrs. William Haughton and Company. Limited, is on a business visit to Auckland. He has spent some time in Australia and returns there before going on to London.
