SAN FRANCISCO STORES. LA BO I'll CONDITION'S IMPROVE. Labour conditions in San Francisco have improved considerably during recent weeks, according to Mr. H. N\ Thomas, an executive of the Matson Line, who arrived in .Auckland bv tlie Mari|H>sa yesterday. Mr. Thomas said that tin* strikes in the stores and warehouses, which had paralysed retail business for a considerable time, had '"■en settled, and there was a better atmosphere in the relations l>etween employer and employee. J'urthermore. he of the opinion that there was a marked improvement in the general outlook in the T'nited States.
