WAITAKI SEAT.
NATIONALIST WINS. MAGISTERIAL RECOUNT. (By Telegraph.—Fress Association.) WATMATE, Wednesday. The magisterial recount of votes cast in the Waitaki electorate, conducted by Mr. H. Morgan. S.M.. was completed this afternoon, giving the National candidate. Mr. D. C. Kidd. a margin of 14 votes, an increase of four on thp official count, over -Mr. D. Barnes, the sitting Government member. The figures are: — Kidd 4657 Barnes 4643 Majority for Kidd .... 14 Informal 69 Application for a magisterial recount was made by Mr. Barnes following the completion of the official count. Mr. Kidd led by 62 votes after the first count ;ind this margin was later increased by 21. The inclusion of absentee, postal, declaration and seamen's votes in the subsequent official count, reduccd the majority to 10.
