Sir William Hnnt was a passenger for Auckland from Wellington by air. Lieutenant-Colonel B. S. Finn was a passenger for Wellington by the early express, this afternoon. Mr. I. M. Bowden. of Wellington, arrived from the south by the Limited express this morning on a visit to Auckland. Mr. H. B. G. Walker, branch accountant of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland. The Rev. F. K. Button, curate of St. Mary's Cathedral, Auckland, has been appointed vicar of St. Peter's Church, Pahiatua. Mr. F. K. Picot, Director of Internal Marketing, was a passenger for Auckland by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Mr. E. J. Marklew. assistant enpinee'in the Communications Department <i the railways, has returned to Wellington. The Hon. Sir Frederick Tout. M.L.C.. of Sydney, who arrived at Auckland 1-y the Awatea this morning, will leave f'»r Wellington by train to-morrow evening. Mr. G. R. Powells, who has been building inspector for the Wellington Education Board for over 30 years, lias tendered his resignation from the position. Mr. A. W. Sneddon, general manager and actuary of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, who arrived at Auckland by the Awatea. will leave for Wellington to-morrow evening. Sir Bruce Stewart, of Banks Peninsula, who paid a brief vis-it to Auckland for the purpose or meeting Lady Stewart, who returned from England by the Ranjritiki. has returned south accompanied by Lady Stewart. Mr. T.. H. Cagen. of tjie Union Sten::i Ship Company's London branch offi'?. has arrived at Wellington for tweh ? months' experience in the head office. His place in London is being taken bv Mr. F. K. Macfarlane. Mr. A. W. Johnson, general manager in Australia of the Orient Steam Navigation Company, will be a passenger for Auckland in the Orcades. which is due on October 28. He will foe accom-' panied by his wife and they will spend some weeks in the Dominion. Commander A. B. Fanshawe. second naval member of the New Zealand Naval Board, has been gazetted an honorarv aide-de-canip on the staff of the Gover-nor-General, Lord Galway. Commander Fanshawe was formerly deputy superintendent and assistant King's Harbourmaster at Portsmouth dockyard. Commander Fanshawe has been on a brief visit tc Aucklapd and will return to Wellington by train this evening.
