" It ia aignad by Mr. W. F. Jamieson (chairman) and Mr. F. 8. Byng-John-aon. "Tbo efhtral executive," nays the statement, "desirea to inform the supporters of Liberalism that they decided not to contest the forthcoming election owing to the following reaaona:— "(1) A clear-cut iune ia desired by the people.

"(2) A greater opportunity will occur for a return to Liberalism after the fleet on have decided between democracy fend Socialism.

"The member* of the executive ars of opinion that both the policies as net forth by the two partiee mow in the Held are far removed from the principlee of - Liberalism, • the foundation principles of which arsi—(l) Justice ■n<i fair play to all before all else; (2) a true and just measure of nl«t for all; (3) principles before party and country I before all."
