At the meeting of the junior management of the Auckland Rugby League the chairman, ilr. D. Wilkie, a hearty welcome to Mr. John Quinlan, manager of £astern Suburbs' touring team. The visitors gave an interesting talk, describing the district form of control of junior football in Sydney. He also referred to other feature of progress in the game. It was decided to recommend the fifth grade knock-out final «■ the curtain-raisrr t6 the senior champion of champion® match on Saturday week. Permiasion was granted the Avondale and Xorth Shore third grade teams to play at Hamilton and Whangarei respectively on Saturday. _ Avondale sixths will also go to Hikurangi. The following Saturday Ellerslie «emor B and third grade teams intend to play at Hisurangi.
W. R. Hammond's century v. Glamorgran, at Bristol, was his seventh in cisrht consecutive innings for Gloucestershire. In these innings he scored 1059 runs and averaged 211.80.
