Veterans Offer to Train Division for Europe.
CABINET IN SESSION. (Received 12 noon.) OTTAWA, September 26. Cabinet is remaining in session. The Prime Minister, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, promises an immediate call for an emergency session of Parliament if necessary. The Canadian Corps, an Association of Great War veterans, offers the Government to recruit and train a division for service in Europe. It urges the nationalisation of industries and the mobilisation of resources to supply Britain without profit.
The Premier of Alberta, Mr. W. Aberhart, addressing the Bible Institute at Edmonton, asserted that the British, French and Russians were being stirred by a foolish concept of contractual obligations which demanded fulfilment, regardless of conditions.
Colonel W. W. Foster, of Vancouver, president of the Great War Veterans, declares that civilisation deserves to perish if it plunges the world into another war. If the 20,000,000 who fought in the last one could be heard there would be no conflict.
