This was his final statement, and it was received with prolonged applause and a minority of jeers.
After a motion of thanks for his address and best wishes for his campaign had been carried by an overwhelming majority of the 200 present, the meeting ended to the strains of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow." Mr. T. J. Fleming presided.
