AITKEN—GILDO BOUT. The Young Gildo —Billy Aitken fight on Monday night is keenly awaited by boxing enthusiasts. There is intense rivalry between these clever fighters, and the fact that the Wellington lad holds two decisions over the Filipino lends additional interest to the bout. To perform the hat tricik and win all three of his contests with a tighter of the calibre ot Young Gildo would undoubtedly be a triumph for Aitken. When Gildo fought Aitken at Palmerston North on August 11 the bout was a hectic one, both men going full out in a great effort to receive the verdict. The referee pointed Aitken's way and a large section of the crowd booed the decision, Gildo afterwards stating that he could not feel entirely- satisfied with the decision. Aitken, however, is recognised n« a hard, clever fighter witii a fast, long-range punch aud the fact that he accounted for a fighter of Snowy Clark's calibre speaks much for his all-round ability. The contest on Monday night will be of 12 three-minute rounds and a high-class amateur programme will be featured on the opening section of the evening's entertainment. I
