Provincial Championship. The Auckland provincial championship this year is to be played at the Maungakiekie links for the first time in the history of the event. The championship was first played in 1922 at Middlemore. and was won by the then New Zealand champion, Mrs. Guy Williams. Last year, at Middlemore, Mies V. Fleming, a member of the New Zealand Tasman Cup team tor the past two eeasons, was the winner, l>nt it is not yet" known whether she will defend her title. However, an excellent entry from the province and some other clubs of the North Island is promised tor the event, which will be played on October 4, 5 and 6. Tt is expected that there will be about 20 competitors on a single figure handicap. Win* K. M. C'hurton, the secretary of the Manngakiekie Club, is at present a victim of the measles epidemic. It is hoped that she will have recovered in time to attend to her duties for the provincial championship, which the club is very pleased has been allocated to it. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. The semi-finals and finals of tlie champion shto» of the Maungakiekie Ladles' Oolf Club were played yesterday. Results were as follow: — Seniors.—Semi-finals: Mrs. E. J. Noble heat Mrs. C. E. Gravatt, 3 and 2; Mrs. H. V. Johnston beat Mrs. IT. 3 and 2. I'lnnl: Mrs. Johnston beat Mrs. Nolan 1' up. Juniors.—Semi-finals: Mrs. 8. Haycock heat Miss E. McGowan. 3 and 1: Mra. C. F. Kosser beat Mrs. C. Ellett, 3 and 2. Final: Mrs. Haycock beat Mrs. Rosser, at the l!>th. Maungakiekie Cup Handicap Match I'la.v Competition.—Semi-finals: Mrs. A. Milne beat Mrs. V. R. Garrard. 6 and 2: Mrs. H. Walker beat Mrs. H. P. Caughey, and 4. Final: Mrs. Milne beat Mrs. Walker, B and 4. The best scores in the Canadian foursome bogey were as follows: Miss S.
