BLOMFIELD V. DETTON

Matched at the Town Hall oil Tuesday nest, Lofty Blomfield and Dean Detton should provide one of the most interesting and thrilling wrestling matches of the season, with the added interest that it is a challenge match for the championship of New Zealand. Both Blomfield and Detton have had good seasons in this country and hove emerged at the top of the list of the wrestlers who have competed here. Blomfield has had 60 matches so far, with the record of 43 wins. 10 draws and six losses. Detton, in a shorter season here, has had 22 matches, with 17 wins and three draws. Two matches of his have been without decision, one of them being with Blomfield at Wellington last Monday. Detton thus goes against Blomfield so far undefeated, and with the reputation of having been one of the best wrestlers to have held the world title. He has beaten Blomfield once this season on a disqualification, and is anxious to maintain his position. On the other hand Blomfield has had a much more trying season, and the lossea were mostly scored against him in the early days of the season when he was off form. He claims now that he can defeat Detton. and critics will give him every chance of making good that claim, for his form has never been better.
