N.Z. WHO'S WHO.
A TIMELY PUBLICATION
A handy biographical reference work has been published by National Magazines, Limited, Wellington, under the title "International Who's Who, N.Z., 1938." The volume is divided into two sections, pictorial and literary, and is a timely addition to New Zealand works of reference. It contains numerous photographs and biographical sketches of representative commercial, professional, pastoral and business men of New Zealand.
The photographic section contains approximately 430 portraits, reproduced with remarkable clarity on good quality art paper. Of these some 100 are fullpage studies As it is only fitting, the place of honour is occupied by a fine study of the Governor-General, Lord Galway, while among a widely representative selection are to be found the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon M. J. Savage, and members of his Cabinet.
Some 560 pages are devoted to the biographical sketches. These have been made concise and clearly worded and are of an average length of 200 words. Abbreviations used are clear and understandable, while both printing and paper are good. These studies include, as well as the more prominent and well known New Zealanders, men in almost every walk of life. Representatives of sheep farmers, merchants, financial workers and teachers, as well as many other trades and professions, all find a place.
