Auckland children are capable of emptying a half-pint bottle of milk without much trouble, according to members of the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council.

At to-dayV meeting Mr. A. Bosser stated that in the South there was a move to provide the children with quarter-pint bottles. Apparently they eould not cope with half-pints.

The chairman, Mr. I. J. Goldstine. said that at a recent meeting of the Milk in Schools Committee, tjie lieadiiasters had stated that there was no serious wastage. and they saw no reason to cut town the supply.

The chairman: If children can get out of drinking milk at home they will do it.

Mr. H. F. W. Meikle: Not at the North Shore They clean the bottles up without anv trouble.

The chairman: Tliey will drink it lip at school without a murmirr. I heard of a lad who had to be forced to drink milk at home, but when he saw the others with their bottles at school he soon fell into line.

Mr. Lovegrove quoted a similar case, adding that "now they couldn't keep him off it."
