MOVE TO LEAVE N.Z. BODY. (T!y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Through membership of the New Zealand Clerical Association the Canterbury Clerks' Union i* affiliated to the federation of Labour, a circular issued to members of the Canterbury union states. As the executive elected recentlywent into office with a policy opposed to affiliation with the federation, a special meet in- „f the union has been called, when a motion to leave the Dominion association will !*> discussed.

Jhe motion to be placed before the meeting is: -That the Canterbury t lerks, ( asluers and Office Kmploveos' Industrial Union of Workers ' disaffiliates from the New Zealand Clerical hmployees' As^ociation." An explanatory note on the circular roads as follows; "The executive, who went n ,t„ „„ tj|( , nn d,.rs t i.n«lini.' that they were agaTnst affiliation with the New Zealand Federation of Labour, now find that the New Zealand Clerical f.mplovees' Asoeiation have affiliated with that body, and the Canterbury Clerical Union, therefore, becomes a member of the Federation of Labour. ' Jhe executive now feels that the decision should bo taken opt of their hands, and that members should be allowed to decide t lie issue."'

The circular, which is signed by the secretary of the union (Mr. T. Nuttall), gives notice that only financial member J Will he admitted to the ball.

Steps are now being taken to put'into effect the decision of the la*t special mooting of the union to vacate the offices in the Trades Hall. Mr. Nuttall's staff has been busy packing up for the move, which will be carried" out in a day or two.
