Czechs and Sudetens Killed

DEMONSTRATIONS RESUMED. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON", September 22. German sources in Berlin report a serious clash at Weipert, Czechoslovakia, the population of which marched to Baerenstein, on the frontier, where a Czech officer, it is alleged, threw a hand grenade into the crowd. Czechs and Sudetens were killed. Details are not available. The report adds that buildings in Weipert were set 011 fire. An official news agency says that raiding Czechs were thrown back at Neussiedl, Mitterbach and Liebenau. At the last-named there was a miniature battle betiveen Czech military forces and Sudetens. Some were killed and 20 wounded. German wireless station alleges a revolt of Bratislava garrison. Czechs Evacuating. Ihe official German news agency states that the Czech Army is evacuating all parts of Sudetenland. At Eger people roamed the streets all night expecting the arrival of the German Army and wildly cheered the first detachment of the Volunteer Corps. The remaining Czech police are now wearing swastika armbands.
Demonstrations were resumed at Plague early this morning. The crowds were orderly but less good-tempered than last night, women screaming continuouslv. '
Many factories have closed. Workers are pouring into Prague and traffic was stopped in the centre of the citv, processions converging on the President's Palace and Legation quarters. There was much oratory, but the speakers did not seem to be clear on the real position. Some imagine Herr Hitler is already on his way to Prague. Nazi Flag Flying. The Nazi flag is now flying over Czech towns throughout Sudetenland, says a special correspondent of Reuter's agency. A crowd of Sudeten Germans stormed the Czech Customs House at Asch, disarmed the officials and led them to Germany. Afterward the Germans took possession of the Asch police station and placed the police under lock and key. Similar incidents are reported in other Sudeten centres. The German official news agency at Berlin reports that the Czech authorities are evacuating Eger. The Sudeten Germans have taken charge of the town. Sudetens have also taken over- the police service in the entire Sudeten territory to the Czech frontier, and the former Czech police are co-operating to maintain order.
PRICES MARKED DOWN. RENEWED UNEASINESS. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, September 22. Renewed uneasrness was reflected in a general marking down of prices on the Stock Exchange. Gilt-edged stock was weak. Czech bonds dropped a further five points. German were also easier.
