MISS STEWART WINS.
OPEN" DAY AT WARKWORTH.
The consistent Whangarei player, Miss •T. Stewart, retained the title of the Wellslord Club at the annual open tournament yesterday. Miss Stewart, on a five mark, was the lowest handicapped competitor in the field, and had rounds of 80 and 85— <In ito sound golf. Mrs. Morrison, of Warkworth, was runner-up, a role she occupied last year, with an aggregate of eight strokes more than Miss Stewart.
Details of leading scores in the open championship were as follows:—Miss .T. Stewart, 80, 85—165; Mrs. Morrison, 85. —173: Mrs. Foote, 87, 91—178: Miss Steele. 89, 90—179; Miss M. Loekie, 95, 84—179.
The handicap medal over 36 holes was won by Miss Milly Nobilo. with a net score of 134. The morning medal resulted:— Miss Mary Nobilo, 87 —19—68: Mrs. Thompson, 103—34—69 ; Mrs. Cornish, 92— 22—70.
