WHITE ISLAND ACTIVITY.
(From Our Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, Thursday. An exceptionally high column of vapour was visible from Opotiki above White Island this morning. The narrow column was the highest seen for a long period and rose for several thousand feet straight above the island.
