At the usual weekly sale of Ceylon tea at Colombo on September 30 the quantitv on offer amounted to 3,2d0,0001b weight Quality of Uva grades was poor, while ipickoya and Dimbullae were useful; other | types rather plain. Commons and low medium type* had good clearances, while medium good were in poor demand (Actual price alterations showed a firm market on commons and Price broken orange pekoes, Hd per lb reduction on plain 8.0.P.'5, %d per lb on first classic I broken pekoes, and %d per lb on fine | broken orange pekoes. A return giving information in regard to tea imported into New Zealand for the seven months ending July, 1938. reveal« *"** 1 *?,? total quantity amounted to o,Goo',lGolh, representing a decline this year of 279,1211b.
