GILDO SEEKS REVENGE.

CONFIDENT HE WILL BEAT AITKEN

"Young" Gildo, the Filipino lightweight, is leaving no stone unturned in order that he may take the ring in first-class condition on Monday night. This contest with "Billy" Aitken is arousing much interested comment among the ardent Gildo fans, who are confident that this time their favourite will emerge a certain winner. "Billy" Aitken is beyond a doubt the most versatile and spectacular of the Dominion lightweight* and he appears to have reached top form this season. He recently secured a points decision over "Snowy" Clark, the brilliant little Australian, and previously earned a narrow points victory over Gildo. The decision in the latter fight aroused a storm of protest from the packed house and Gildo himself, feeling that the result did not dc him justice, is particularly anxious to meet Aitken again in a dozen three-minute rounds. The amateurs selected for the first half of the programme include several wellknown boxers and the bouts arranged are: Welter-weight. H. Robertson (Auckland Gymnasium) v. J. Hudson (F. Bruno): light-heavy-weight. F. Butler (E. Caughey's gymnasium) v. B. Cattell (H. Hogg's gvmnasinm): welter-weight. J. Balcombe (R. N. Tree's gymnasium) v. L. Donaldson fH. Hogg's gymnasium): wel-ter-weight. W. Little f-T. Davey's gymna«ium) v. J. Fr.iser CH.M.S. Leander). Emergency: Lightweight. H. AVillmott (J. Davey's gymnasium) v. J. McKay (E. Donovan's gymnasium).
