UNPROFITABLE WORKS.
(By Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. R. A. Wrigtkc, independent candidate for Wellington West in the course of an election address, said he was satisfied that some of the railways now under construction would not be profitable. If New Zealand continued to draw upon the revenue of - the country for non-payable public work*, and borrowed for the same purpose, the country's financial position would become exceedingly difficult.
