Fatal Head-on Collision Near
Los Angeles.
TWO TRAIN'S OVERTURNED. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LOS ANGELES, September 2a Four passengers were killed, 40 injured and six of the crew are believed killed in a. head-on collision between two Southern Pacific Railway Company , * trains 180 miles from Los Angeles.
Apparently a switch did not work, causing the Argonaut train from New Orleans to crash into the Chicago-bound Californian, which was waiting on the siding and overturning both locomotives.
