POUND DEMANDS RETURN OF MINORITY.

SEPARATED AREA.

Extensive Troop Movements

To Frontier.

POWERS INFORMED. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, September 20. "There is nothing now to prevent the return of the Polish minority in the Teschen district," says a semiofficial newspaper.

Colonel Beck, Foreign Minister, received Hans Adolf von Moltke, German Ambassador, and instructions were issued to Polish Ambassadors in London, Paris, Rome and Berlin to inform the respective Governments of the Polish viewpoint on the events in Czechoslovakia and the international situation resulting therefrom. The entire Polish Press supports the demand that the area separated from Poland against the will of its inhabitants must be returned. It is reliably stated that Polish troop movements to the frontier in the past 24 hours had been extensive. The Polish Ambassador and the Hungarian Minister called at the Foreign Office. It is understood they are pressing for secession of Czech territory containing 80,000 Poles and 800,000 Hungarians. A I Foreign Office official told the British United Press that Poland would not recognise a solution not ceding Teschen to Poland. Mass meetings throughout Polish Silesia are demanding the return of Teschen from Czechoslovakia. A gathering of 7000 at Katowice proclaimed: "We want to march against the Czechs," carried a resolution assuring the Poles in Czechoslovakia that the nation was supporting them and demanded the formation of a volunteer corps. A communique announces that the frontier guards have been reinforced owing to Czechoslovak military measures in the neighbourhood of the frontier, and the numbers of Czech army deserters arriving.

TALK WITH HITLER.

Hungarian Ministers at

Berchtesgaden.

RIGHTS OF COMPATRIOTS. (Received 2 p.m.) BERLIX, September 20. Herr Hitler and Herr von Ribbentrop conferred with M. Imredy, Hungarian Minister without portfolio, and M. Kanya, Foreign Minister, who arrived at Berchtesgaden by air from Budapest. They left for home in the afternoon after lunching with Herr Hitler. An official statement says the purpose of the visit was to examine the untenable position in Czechoslovakia. Herr Hitler reviewed the German problems and the Hungarians dealt with the irrevocable claim of Hungarians for the right of self-determination of their oppressed compatriots in Czechoslovakia. Horr Hitler also hart a conference with the Polish Minister, M. Lipski. It is categorically denied that Admiral Horthy, Regent of Hungary, will visit Herr Hitler before Herr Hitler goes to Godesberg.
