JUBILEE CLUB. SMOKE CONCERT - PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The second annual emoke concert and presentation of prizes of the Jubilee Rowing Club wan held at Pearson House. Blind Institute, last night. Mr. D. MePhee. president, presiding over a large attendance of members and supporters of rowing.
Fn proposing the toast of the "Board of Trustees." Mr. Rohineon expressed thanks for tlie jrreAt aaektance and consideration given to the oansmen. The first purchase by the trustees wae a 12ft dinghy; thi« wae followed by two fours, then the (selection of a eite and the building of the boathouse. The coming eeason would be opened with a full plant that includes two new foure and two new pair ojii-e.
In renpondins, Mr. Broadfoot. aetingdir.xtor of the Institute, thanked the memlyers for their appreciation, and in outlining tlie activities of the hoard during the last twelve years, stated that the trustee* were always very helpful and sympathetic with al! cases in fostering activities in connection with the Institute. A splendid musical programme was contributed by Mr. F. Robinson. Mr. McGregor, Tiiinai Taraewi, Mr. Ivan Knight and Arnie Hartman. Mr. A. C. Xorden, vice-president, presented the trophies, which included the Morewa Cup. and aggregate noints trophywon by A. T,nwson and P. Harvey. Other "lizrrt were: Jubilee trophy. W Wilson V. Robinson. A. Lawson.'.T. Short; St. DiiiwtiiriV Tun. A. Lnwson. J. Short. S. IValer. O. Harvey: Xordon medale, A. r,.iHson, W. Wilson, S. Pegler, G. Hiirvev. The' toast list included "The Kins." "Board of Trustees." Mr. Robinson. Mr. Broadfoot: "Auckland Rowjns Aseociation." Mr. Ghernrcli. Mr. A. C. Xorden: "The Visitors," Mr. F. E. Robineon Mr. Phillips. The annual meetinrr of the clnb will be held on September 26.
WAITEMATA CLUB.
The officials of the Waitemata Boating Clu'h have made all arrangements for the coining season and on Saturdav. Ociober S. activities will start with Old Members' I>ay. Veterans from various parts of the Dominion have signified their intention of being present. The trial four racing programme for the first half of the season provides for the following :— October 8. Opening Day: October 15, Mr. W. Denison's trophies; October 29. Mr Hugh Wright's trophies: November 5, Mr C. J. Ellerbeefc's trophies: November 12, Mr. K. C. Bridgens' trophies: November lit.
