SALES INCREASE.
WAITEMATA POWER BOARD.
A substantial increase in the gross sales of current by the Waitemata Electric Power Board was revealed in a report submitted at yesterday's meeting of the board. Mr. \V. R. T.'Leighton was in the chair.
The gross sales of current for the month of August, 1938, amounted to £12,2.34 7/9, compared with £10.600 5/3 for the corresponding month last year, an increase of £1654 2/6.
The total gross sales for the five months ended August 31. 1938. amounted to £03,898 5/2, as against £54,874 19/5 for the corresponding period last year, an increase of £9023 5/9.
Discount allowed to consumers for the past five months totalled £15,421, compared with £13,726 for the corresponding period last year.
