IXIOH CUP TRIAL. The annual trial for the Ixion Cup, held on Sunday last under extremely wintry conditions, proved to be one of the most keenly contested events of the season. A field of 22 riders faced the starter at 10 a.m. and proceeded to a series of observed sections, between Howick and Wiri, and then on to the well-known Takanini water splash. The event was won by A. Bentson (8.5.A.), of Pukekohe, with D. Smith (Rudge). also of Pukekohe, second. This is the first time in many years that a visitor from another centre ban succeeded in wresting one of the big trophies from the local boys, and the congratulations of i the club go with it.
The results were: A. Beateon 1, with a loan of only seven points in a total of 12 observed section*; D. Smith 2, lost 13 points; J. Webster (Levis) and J. Hollingsworth (Ariel) 3, with » lose of IT poia*.
